40x30" original oil painting
 
My 36th birthday vacation inspires this 40x30" vibrant impressionistic oil painting. My husband, our two Aussies, and I explored New Mexico and Arizona. We spotted many migratory birds, and I had hoped to find a super bloom of spring flowers. While hiking in Catalina State Park, we came upon the most spectacular sight of poppies in bloom. They graced the base of saguaro cacti reaching for the sky with Mountain Lemmon in the distance. We halted our hike to soak in all of its beauty. It truly was the best muse, which continues to inspire me today. Beyond that, it was food for my soul, and where I would be happy to rest my bones.
